
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts took a major step forward by bringing together industry stakeholders to validate the draft Tourism Code and its implementing regulations. This reform is crucial to adapting the legal framework to current realities and aligns with the ambitions of the “Senegal 2050” strategic plan.
Presiding over the session on behalf of the Minister, Mr. Thierno Mademba Gaye, Chief of Staff, highlighted the key objectives of this modernization:
✅ Attracting more investments by creating a more business-friendly environment
✅ Ensuring better visitor safety and quality of service
✅ Encouraging diversification by promoting religious, cultural, and domestic tourism
As part of “Senegal 2050”, this legislative overhaul aims to position the country as a leading tourism destination in Africa, focusing on a diverse offering and an enhanced travel experience.
