The 67TH Meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa and 2nd UN Tourism Regional Conference on Brand Africa under the theme: “Promoting Africa to unlock tourism investments and the sector’s growth potential”

UN Tourism – The 67th Meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for Africa and 2nd UN Tourism Regional Conference on Brand Africa under the theme: “Promoting Africa to unlock tourism investments and the sector’s growth potential” will be held in Livingstone, Zambia from 22 to 24 July 2024. The Conference is open to the participation of UN Tourism Member States, UN Tourism Affiliate Members, and invited delegations, tourism professionals and technical experts, representatives of funding institutions and financial services, stakeholders from public and private sectors who drive the management and the transformation of the tourism sector in Africa with a view to promoting the continent as an attractive and competitive destination worldwide.

Additionally, the Conference will host the Brand Africa and Tourism Think Tank. The participation in this closed forum is reserved to the Chief Executive Officers and General Managers of Africa’s National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), Marketing Directors at the Ministries of Tourism as well as key tourism private sector stakeholders who will discuss on effective communication, marketing and branding strategies to be implemented in order to build a solid and consistent image of the continent with the ultimate goal of rebuilding market confidence and reigniting Africa’s tourism sector in the post-pandemic phase.

Finally, an Investment Session will also be held in this framework to deep dive on global tourism investment trends with a specific focus on the perspectives of the Africa context and namely on the tourism investment outlook and climate of Zambia. In fact, the Conference will serve as a high-level platform to officially launch the UN Tourism Doing Business Guidebook for Zambia.
