DARY Festival 2024: A Celebration of Unity and Cultural Diversity in Chad

Under the High Patronage of His Excellency MAHAMAT IDRISS DEBY ITNO, President of the Republic and Head of State, the 6th edition of the DARY Festival promises to be an exceptional celebration of Chad’s culture and traditions. This must-attend event, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the National Office for the Promotion of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Arts (ONPTA), will take place from December 21, 2024, to January 4, 2025, at the Palace of Arts and Culture in Douguia.

The official launch of the festival was held on September 27, 2024, at the Douguia tourist resort, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism Development, Culture, and Handicrafts, Mr. ABAKAR ROZZI TEGUIL. In his speech, the Minister highlighted the significance of the event, stating:
“The DARY Festival is an exceptional platform for exchange and dialogue, a true meeting space where Chad’s diverse communities can celebrate and share their cultural wealth. Through traditions, dances, music, crafts, and gastronomy from our country’s provinces, DARY serves as a bridge that enables us to better understand and appreciate the cultural diversity that strengthens Chad.”

A Gathering for Togetherness

The DARY Festival stands out for its ambition to bring together Chad’s various communities to celebrate the richness of their shared heritage. Each day will be an opportunity to explore the traditions of the provinces, with exhibitions of crafts, performances of traditional dances and music, and an immersion in local gastronomy.

This cultural rendezvous also plays a key role in promoting lasting peace by strengthening bonds between cultures and fostering intercultural dialogue. It offers a unique opportunity for visitors to discover the authenticity and diversity of Chad while participating in a moment of national unity.

An Unmissable Festival

Organized during the festive end-of-year period, the DARY Festival is an open invitation for everyone. Whether you are passionate about culture, art, or traditions, this event provides an enriching and welcoming experience for both Chadians and international visitors alike.

So, join us at the Palace of Arts and Culture starting December 21 to celebrate together the beauty and unity of our cultural heritage. Together, let’s make DARY a symbol of peace, love, and sharing.
